ANNOUNCEMENTS

St. Nicholas Sunday School

Sunday School will reopen on Sunday, September 26th.  Please see Sunday School tab for details.

SERVICES

Marriage services have long been an event we take great pride in performing. The preface, Declarations, readings, and Sermon. The vows, ring exchange, proclamation and the blessing and registration of the marriage.

The christening and baptism service has become one of the great rites of passage . A christening is a child's first initiation into their religious faith.

Volunteers Needed!
Once again, I am looking for volunteers to help with the school age children, and with the preschool area.  No special skills needed!  Just a love for children, and the occasional hour of your time!  Materials and lessons will be provided and the room will be ready for you on Sunday mornings.  Our curriculum is very easy to follow!  This invitation is open to parents, aunt, uncles, grandparents, teens, etc.  Everyone is welcome!
Please contact me directly to discuss further.  One hour a month goes a long way towards the success of our program!
Looking forward to another successful year!

St. Nicholas Sunday School

In September 2008, our Sunday School re-opened in the newly constructed Christian Education Centre, attached to St. Nicholas Church.  Classes run from September through May and take place during the 11:00 a.m. Eucharist on Sunday mornings.  See below for the current schedule.

Children attend the first part of the church service with their families.  During the gradual hymn, they are invited to follow the Server and their teachers to the Sunday School.  Children remain with their teachers until they are picked up by parents/guardians after the service.

Children 4 and up participate in the “One Room Sunday School” program.  This program utilizes a variety of activities such as group discussion, role playing, crafts, music, and games to deliver lessons from the Old and New Testaments.  Each lesson focuses on a specific bible verse, story and faith point.  Through group discussion and activities, children relate their learning to modern day life.

Activities and worksheets are categorized into 3 categories – Non-readers, Beginning Readers and Skilled Readers.  This allows the teacher to structure the lesson in a format effective for all age groups.

Children 3 and under are invited to join the pre-school group for bible stories, coloring, playdough and free play.  Younger children are welcome to join in age-appropriate Sunday School activities whenever they feel ready.
Parents are encouraged to observe and participate and we welcome any volunteers!

To be placed on our contact list, please email wheatonmichelle@yahoo.com .

Interested in teaching a class or volunteering with the preschoolers?  Please contact the superintendent, Michelle Wheaton, at 437-7630 or email
wheatonmichelle@yahoo.com . Our program is easy to follow, and all materials will be provided for you.

Come spend an hour with our congregation’s youngest members!  This is a rewarding and energizing experience!
